Just in time for Bike to School Day, the National Center has released several new bike safety resources. “Helping Your Child Be a Safe Bicyclist” is a flier for parents that covers bike safety basics including proper helmet fit. “Ride Your Bike Safely” offers safety tips for students. These new resources, as well as links to several more bike safety resources, are available at www.walkbiketoschool.org/keep-going/bike-safety.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is also offering several new safety resources on its website. Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe! is a new child transportation safety campaign from NHTSA and Ludorum, the producers of the Chuggington™ television series, that provides tools to help children walk, bicycle, ride school buses, and travel in motor vehicles more safely. You can access tools such as a Traffic Safety Pledge, Activity Book, banner ads and safety tips at icsw.nhtsa.gov/parents/. Remember to Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe!
