A new tip sheet from the NCSRTS helps Safe Routes to School leaders address the challenges of organizing walking and bicycling programs at middle schools. The new resource offers ideas on engaging middle school-age students in Safe Routes to School by recognizing and building upon the typical attributes of middle school students, including their desire for self-expression and self-determination and their expanded awareness of social, cultural, and environmental issues.
