Looking Both Ways: Helping Parents and Educators Support Safe Walking and Bicycling

Tuesday, September 28, 2010 (All day)

Inspiring and empowering parents of would-be walkers can be a challenge. This webinar teaches how parents and educators can help support safe walking and bicycling. You'll find out what researchers learned from focus groups with parents of tweens and how it might be applied in your community. In addition to an overview of this study, the speakers discuss new resources for marketing and how parents can assess and build their child's pedestrian safety skills. The webinar also includes a discussion of the new NHTSA Child Pedestrian Safey Curriculum.

Presented by Noreen McDonald, UNC Chapel Hill, Nancy Pullen-Seufert, National Center for Safe Routes to School, and Leah Walton, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
