Top Ten SRTS Engineering Treatments for Improving Walking/Bicycling

Tuesday, December 14, 2010 (All day)

At many schools, some basic physical improvements are needed to provide a more safe and desirable environment for walking and bicycling. But which engineering treatments provide the greatest impact for Safe Routes to School? When should they be used? How do you get the right people involved to plan and implement these treatments? This webinar answers these questions and provides an overview of the "top ten" SRTS engineering treatments. Participants will learn how to identify physical barriers to walking and bicycling, how to create SRTS maps, how various treatments will help address safety issues, and how to implement and maintain these treatments.

Presented by Mike Cynecki, Traffic Engineering Supervisor, Street Transportation Department, City of Phoenix, and Bill Schultheiss, Senior Engineer, Toole Design Group.
