  • Is there a precedent for using SRTS funds to install a new water fountain outside a school building?
  • We recently built a school on a small county road without sidewalks. Are there grants to use for acquiring land and installing sidewalks with a protective rail for children who walk or bicycle to school?
  • What is the legal age for a child to walk in the community without an adult?
  • Can SRTS funds be used for infrastructure in the construction of a new school?
  • Do you have any case studies or examples of remote drop-off policies?
  • Is it the schools responsibility to ensure the students' safety on their walk to school? If so, what is the regulation/code covering the school's responsibility?
  • Besides raising taxes and acquiring grant funding, what are innovate ways that local programs have used to continually fund adult crossing guards?
  • Can Safe Routes to Schools grants be awarded to projects focused on high schools and junior high schools?
  • How do I find SRTS funding from the federal program?
